Klaravich Stables' GLOBAL UNREST (f, 2, Flameaway–Beautiful Memories, by Hard Spun) covered stacks of ground circling the second turn of an 8 1/2-furlong turf maiden Saturday afternoon at Keeneland, but despite that tactical disadvantage, managed to sustain her momentum and outfinished favored Free Verse (Justify) to become the afternoon's second 'TDN Rising Star' presented by Hagyard and second impressive graduate sourced at this year's OBS March Sale.A $270,000 purchase out of that auction, the clean chestnut had done her training at Churchill Downs going all the way back to July and she came into this debut off a worktab that was more steady than it was spectacular and offered relatively few clues.Drawn wide and off at a healthy 26-5, Global Unrest was taken back towards the back of the pack by Flavien Prat and switched off nicely from there as only a moderate tempo developed up front. With Prat sitting hard against her approaching the entrance to the second bend, Global Unrest was finally given the hurry-up with about five-sixteenths of a mile to race, but she was forced to go very wide.Flushed a good seven or eight paths deep into the stretch, Global Unrest was roused to the front with a furlong to travel and may have idled slightly before inching away late. Free Verse, the 6-5 chalk whose dam Dickinson (Medaglia d'Oro) defeated Lady Eli (Divine Park) in the 2017 GI Jenny Wiley Stakes at this venue, came from midpack to loom a late danger, but was outfinished.Sales history: $270,000 2yo '26 OBSMAR.
