Oliver Irow has opened up on the challenges he faces in achieving his future Tottenham dream after an excellent start to the new season.Spurs decided to loan Irow out to Plymouth Argyle after his impressive spell at Mansfield Town in the second half of last season, and that has proven to be an inspired decision. The 20-year-old Tottenham academy graduate has been in outstanding form for his new club, and his contributions are one of the main reasons why Argyle are sitting at the summit of the League One table. The winger has already found the back of the net four times in eight outings this campaign, and would have undoubtedly caught the attention of the decision-makers at Hotspur Way.Photo by MB Media/Getty ImagesOliver Irow wants to follow in Mikey Moore’s footsteps at TottenhamSome very talented youngsters from the Tottenham academy have failed to make the transition to the club’s first-team over recent years. The form of Troy Parrott and Will Lankshear this season perhaps sheds light on the North London club’s failure to provide a clear pathway.Irow has revealed that he has not given up his dream of making it at Tottenham, but admits that the path is not an easy one. When asked about the competition that academy players face at a club like Spurs, the 20-year-old told PA Sport (as relayed by ESPN): “I think it’s hard because there’s a lot of players and all of us are trying to do the same thing.“Mikey’s obviously done well to be able to break through but, like for myself, I’ve gone out to try and showcase what I can do and I feel like that was the best thing for me and for other players as well.“Of course, I’m not going to speak on their behalf, but they’ve done the same thing. Gone out to try to prove themselves. I feel like everyone’s pathway is completely different and that’s fine. It’s just hopefully you can keep building and hopefully one day be able to play for Spurs.”Irow hopes Moore can serve as an example to Spurs academy playersMoore has had a promising start to his loan spell at Köln, and the youngster will be hoping that he can demonstrate in the Bundesliga this season that he is ready to play a key role at Tottenham next term.Irow is convinced that the 19-year-old attacker has the quality to make the transition to Premier League football. When asked about Moore, the man on loan at Argyle said: “He’s got the quality. I think there’s a lot of players in that group that definitely could and definitely still can. Everyone’s speaking to each other so hopefully – but of course, Mikey’s a great player. Hopefully he can push on, hopefully we can all push on and do the same thing.”READ MORE: ‘Manage the group’ – Ledley King gives Tottenham captain advice to Micky van de VenThe post Tottenham 20-year-old wants to follow in Mikey Moore's footsteps and break into the first-team appeared first on Spurs Web.
