Reigning Eclipse-winning Older Dirt Horse Forever Young (Jpn) (Real Steel {Jpn}) continued his preparation for a return tilt in the GI Breeders' Cup Classic Oct. 31 with a half-mile breeze at Belmont Park Sunday morning.Working solo with assistant trainer Yuki Araki aboard, Japan's Horse of the Year went four furlongs in :51 4/5 (37/38), with NYRA clockers capturing him through splits of :13 4/5 and :38 flat.Araki opted to let Forever Young roll a bit more Sunday ahead of anticipated poor weather later in the day and through the upcoming week.“I decided to breeze a little bit stronger than we planned before. It's good,” Araki said. “When I asked him, he reacted really well and showed a turn of foot–a little bit, but I asked only a little bit. He's following our orders well. He's done well.”Forever Young will have one more breeze at Belmont in a week's time before shipping to Kentucky on Oct. 20 to train with stablemate and GI Breeders' Cup Sprint contender American Stage (Into Mischief).“At Keeneland–planning to do an even pace [open gallop] same thing we did last week on Saturday or Sunday,” Araki said. “We will do the final breeze out on Wednesday, with jockey–and probably we will bring American Stage and do it together.” 今朝はレース20日前追い切りを行いました#ForeverYoung#BC26 https://t.co/22DDMQaS2k— 矢作芳人厩舎【公式】 (@yahagistable) October 11, 2026Joining Forever Young in his Classic prep Sunday was Phileas Fogg (Astern {Aus}) who went out for trainer Gustavo Rodriguez, working five furlongs in 1:00.60 (2/11).“I loved what I saw, and Kendrick [Carmouche] was very happy with the way he worked,” Rodriguez said. “Everything is good and if he stays healthy, we are going [to the Breeders' Cup].
