I'm a Student Building My First App With AI, But I Have No Coding Experience or Budget. What Should I Do Next?

Wait 5 sec.

Hey everyone! I'm a student with an app idea that came from a small problem I noticed. I have no coding or AI expertise, so I've been working with an AI assistant to understand the concept, plan the features, and figure out how the app should work before building anything. According to my AI assistant, around 90% of the planning is complete. I'm still refining the details, and once everything is finalised, I'll have a master PDF containing the app's requirements, features, and technical plan. My original idea was to upload that PDF to Google AI Studio and ask it to build the app for me. However, I've realised that building and publishing an app may involve costs I can't currently afford. I don't have paid subscriptions to coding tools, and I can't risk spending money on an idea that might not succeed. I'd really appreciate your advice on a few things: - Which free AI coding tools should I use to build my app? - Can I build, test, and publish it without spending money, at least initially? - Is uploading a detailed PDF enough, or will I need to learn some coding and handle technical issues myself? - What security, privacy, and other important requirements should I finalise before development? - Should I ask my parents to help fund it, or try to build a working prototype for free first? I genuinely want to turn this idea into something useful for people who need it. I don't expect it to become hugely popular, but I'd love to give it a chance without taking unnecessary financial risks. Any practical advice from developers or people who've built apps using AI would mean a lot. Thanks! submitted by /u/FranzKafka22-6 [link] [comments]
