He had intended to record only a few additional tracks. However, the more he worked with the material, the more it continued to take a different shape. At first, it was going to be the Deluxe edition of the Hand Made Triumph but as time went on, I realized it was taking a different direction from the album and I decided to make it independent, recorded more songs to fit into the theme of the album. The artiste focuses on a wide range of themes close to his heart including family, love, finances, fame and the challenges that he faced in trying to better his life. The songs are all related to different aspects of his life and each takes the listener through his thoughts about various aspects of his past life.According to Viboyo, one of the most personal tracks on the album is ‘Dear Sis’ which reflects his feelings towards his sister who took care of him during his childhood. For the singer, she is more than his sister and the song touches on the meaning of her life to him.Another track that highlights the importance of family is ‘Kampala’. Viboyo talks about the challenges of living in the city as well as the difficulties that come with the pursuit of career and personal goals. In ‘Opportunity’, on the other hand, Viboyo reflects on his experiences at Swangz Avenue and his thoughts on the opportunities that he had and how they affected his life.‘Caught In The Mix’, is a love song that also features his thoughts on the challenges of a certain relationship. The Amulimba artist has explored a range of themes in Melodies Of Pain including love, finances, fame and a host of other issues affecting his life.Melodies Of Pain features Spyda Mc, Deluxe, Gentle, Clays, Lyto Boss, Joy Good and RapDoc among others and to Viboyo, he did not follow any particular pattern when selecting the musicians for the album.Apart from the obvious observation that Viboyo avoided including the most popular names for the project, it appears that he was willing to work with anyone whose voice could fit his own.Personally, I don’t go out looking for trending artists to just make a point. I instead look at artists that resonate with the theme and what I am talking aboutThe artist further clarifies that with the collaborations on the album, everyone is a big brand going by what they offer to the album.“To me, everyone is a big brand, and that is why they are on the album. I enjoyed working with them,” he adds. Most of the production work has been done by Banga Boi and Emmy Wonder with the support of young producers at the Swangz Academy including Mayanja On The Beat and KJay Styles.
