The Upgraded Automated Car Parking and payment System at Entebbe International AirportThe Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has upgraded the parking payment system at Entebbe International Airport with artificial intelligence-powered number plate recognition and expanded digital payment options to reduce delays and congestion at entry and exit points. The upgrade is part of improvements to the airport’s Automated Car Park Management System, which now features more robust and user-friendly equipment to enhance efficiency and service delivery. The system is expected to improve vehicle movement, particularly during peak travel periods, by automating vehicle identification and simplifying payment.According to UCAA, motorists can now pay through mobile money and other digital platforms, reducing reliance on manual procedures and speeding up access to the car park. The upgraded system includes seven new automated payment machines and more sensitive cameras designed to improve vehicle detection and payment processing. The equipment was manufactured by Germany-based Scheidt & Bachmann GMBH, replacing an older system that had only four payment machines. The installation is expected to increase the parking system’s capacity and minimize queues as passenger traffic at Entebbe International Airport continues to grow.UCAA said the upgrade is intended to provide a smoother and more convenient experience for motorists while strengthening efficiency at Uganda’s main international gateway. The post Entebbe Airport Rolls Out AI Number Plate Recognition to End Parking Queues appeared first on Business Focus.
