Tottenham starlet Jamie Donley produced a stunning strike for Luton Town in their win over Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.Donley is one of 17 Spurs players out on loan at the moment, with the midfielder looking to get his career back on track after his struggles last term.The 21-year-old struggled to get game time at Stoke City in the first half of last season and did not pull up any trees at Oxford Town in the second part of the campaign.The midfielder, who featured prominently for Roberto De Zerbi’s side in pre-season, has decided to drop down to League One this term, completing a season-long loan move to Luton.Credit: @thatfootballphotog / InstagramVideo: Tottenham youngster Jamie Donley scores screamer against WycombeThe attacking midfielder already had a goal and two assists in five League One outings this term heading into the weekend, and he added to his tally on Saturday as Luton travelled to Wycombe.Kaysey Palmer put the away side 1-0 up on 16 minutes before Donley doubled their lead with a beauty 11 minutes later.Luton would eventually go on to register a thumping 4-1 win, which helped them move up to 13th place in the League One table. Watch Donley’s second goal of the season below:Beauty 😮‍💨 https://t.co/xRkpVqULCj— Luton Town FC (@LutonTown) October 10, 2026Donley admits he was ‘pushed away’ by De ZerbiThe young midfielder has been rated highly at Hotspur Way for many years and certainly impressed when he got opportunities in the club’s pre-season tour of New Zealand and Australia.However, in a candid interview last week, Donley admitted that he was pushed away from Spurs, as the club’s big-name players returned for pre-season following an extended break.The 21-year-old said: “When I came in for pre-season I spoke to [De Zerbi] a little bit and he said that he liked me, and I went out to Australia and played quite a lot. Then a few of the lads came back from the World Cup and so then I was kind of pushed away a little bit. Towards the end of the window, I had a clear idea of what I was going to be doing.“It’s difficult because there’s so many players and they’re signing £100million players. I’m not arrogant enough to think I’m going to be playing over them. They don’t really give you a pathway. It’s about getting minutes.
