Several government offices, particularly the Revenue Divisional Office, Commercial Tax Office, Bank branch offices and many ATMs are all located in this area. Many retired and working employees also reside here. In addition to being the commercial centre of Paramakudi, the Mani Nagar bus stop attracts a large number of bus passengers. For the convenience of passengers, there is only one bus shelter on the southern side of the stop. However, there is no shelter on the northern side. As a result, the plight faced by passengers under the scorching sun during the daytime and during the rainy season causes great inconvenience to them.Therefore, I request the authorities to construct a public bus shelter with seating facilities for passengers on the northern side of the Mani Nagar bus stop.N. SekaranParamakudiStray dogs in Karaikudi CorporationStreet dogs population in Karaikudi Corporation area has increased manifold. In every road corner, particularly in Arumuga Nagar, they roam around chasing passers by scaring them. Around midnight, they bark loudly at high pitch which disturbs residents during their sleep as well as aged, patients, children etc. The Commissioner was requested to take necessary action as per Supreme Court guidelines to stop this menace before it becomes fatal but in vain. I request again the authorities to do the needful.RM. SomasundaramKaraikudiWaste water collects near hospitalIn Ramanathapuram town, the Government Medical College Hospital campus is found flooded with waste water very often causing unhygienic atmosphere due to lack of proper waste water drainage system. Bad odour emanates from the waste water accumulated on the surface and on internal pathways.Hospital complex normally needs extra care in disposal of waste water as otherwise it will affect the health of in-patients as well as out-patients undergoing treatment. I request the District Collector to take immediate steps to arrange for quick solution to channel the waste water and rain water inside the hospital area and keep the environment safe and clean.Asmabagh AnvardeenRamanathapuramPublished - October 11, 2026 07:09 pm ISTSign in to unlock member-only benefits!Access 10 free stories every monthSave stories to read laterAccess to comment on every storySign-up/manage your newsletter subscriptions with a single clickGet notified by email for early access to discounts & offers on our products${ ind + 1 } ${ device }Last active - ${ la }
