Massachusetts man delivers tanks to a basement. Then he turns a corner and finds a life-size lion figure: ‘Everything cool, everything normal’

Wait 5 sec.

A Massachusetts man, Miel (@jimmydean617), recently found his nerves tested during a delivery run. Thankfully, he came through the jump scare without any accidents. Not only that, he got an insanely viral TikTok post out of it, netting over 15.5 million views. Later, he shared the same post on his Instagram account. It was all thanks to the life-size, realistic lion hidden away in a shadowy corner of a messy basement.  Miel was in the midst of a regular workday when he stumbled upon the terrifying find. In the overlay text, he couldn’t help but ask, “Like why put that right there?” In the video, he described the situation, saying, “Bro, everything I love… almost just s— myself. I came down in this f—ing basement to deliver these f—ing tanks, right? Everything cool, everything normal.” He pans the camera around the space, showing the basement and then the tanks he just delivered.  Then he steps forward to focus his camera around the side of a shelving unit. He says, “Turning around, I’m chilling, I’m looking over here like, oh s—. Is there another tank?” Moments later, he says his heart fell out when he saw it. As he stops moving, the camera reveals a statue of a lion glaring at him from around the corner. In a rather colorful caption on Instagram, he reiterated, “Almost turned my drawls into a muddy swamp.” The internet completely agreed with his reaction In the comments, one TikToker joked, “I know you lion.” A second user, however, shot past the jokes to the important question, writing, “Why is it so realistic?” Others took to the comments to explain how they would have reacted. One person admitted, “Diarrhea would’ve been coming out of my EARS.” To be fair, basements can be super scary in general, and in one case, it got a TikToker to just buy new clothes rather than do laundry. @jimmydean617 We gonna try this again TikTok act right#funny #jimmydean617 #wtf #lion #fyp ♬ original sound – Miel Many wondered why the lion was even in the corner. A user asked, “Why the f would they do that?” However, another thought it might be intentional, suggesting, “Whoever put that there 100% did it on purpose.” In the comments, a user shared that they had a similar experience.  They wrote, “About s— myself doing fire extinguisher inspections once,” and included a picture of a dressed mannequin lying on the floor behind some boxes. It is unclear whether the lion is a high-end taxidermy piece or a sculpture. According to the Natural History Museum, skilled taxidermists can pose animals in anatomically correct positions so they look alive, while the Antique and Fine Art Gallery Ralph Gierhards notes that sculptors spent the 19th and 20th centuries studying animal anatomy to capture lifelike motion in bronze and stone. Either way, realistic animal pieces can turn up in unexpected places, as one Los Angeles woman learned when she accidentally won a full-sized taxidermy elephant in an online auction. One commenter summed up the jump-scare value of the piece, writing, “gang i would’ve threw up.”
