Hi friends, I'm looking to change fields. I have a master's degree in statistics and undergrad in biology. Lots of experience in science research. However lately I've worked in data analysis in tech and it sucks and I don't like it and the industry seems to be in a nosedive. I've been looking to switch fields to something with more face-to-face human interaction, but also not condemned to a life of poverty. I have a few friends who are nurses and nursing came to mind. One problem I have is I live in the Bay Area and I have a wife and kids and a house and a dog as a dude in his 40s. Given the job climate in the Bay Area specifically for nursing, could this be a very bad idea? Would my background in statistics give me any leg up in research settings for first jobs? I would like any advice or criticism or even scolding. Please and thank you! submitted by /u/sweaty_folds [link] [comments]
