Is BTC Quietly Hitting a Wall at Weekly Resistance?BTCUSDT SPOTBITGET:BTCUSDTAshaaibuBTC has rallied about 47% from its July low near 59K, and it has run into the one zone it was always going to meet: the 82.8K-86.8K weekly area that broke in early 2026. Price is now sitting under it at about 83.4K. The zone clearly matters. The open question is whether momentum has anything left to push through it. Three weekly signals say it might not: 1. RSI is back at the same descending trendline for the fourth time. It was rejected there in early 2024, late 2024 and mid-2025, and again now. RSI is 58.9 and turning down. 2. Stochastic is rolling over from overbought, with %K (84.3) now under %D (89.1). 3. The MACD histogram has stopped expanding, even though the MACD line is still above its signal line. These bars are still forming (this weekly candle closes at 00:00 UTC on October 19), so the readings can change. The backdrop leans the same way. US spot Bitcoin ETF inflows slowed from about $2.4B to about $241M in the week ending October 2. The Fear & Greed index sits at 69, in greed. And Wednesday's CPI lands with the 10-year yield near its highest since 2002 and another Fed hike still on the table. Two paths from here: A) Rejection. A weekly close back under 82.8K would confirm the zone as resistance, with 76.6K and 73.2K as the next supports. That 73K-77K area also holds Strategy's disclosed average cost of about $75.4K, so traders will notice it, although a cost basis is a reference point, not a floor. B) Acceptance. A weekly close above 86.8K would flip the zone back into support and make the three signals above look early. What would change my mind: a weekly close above 86.8K, or RSI breaking its trendline. My read: while BTC stays under 86.8K, I treat rallies into this zone as a test of resistance, not a breakout. Levels for reference: 86.8K, 82.8K, 76.6K, 73.2K, 62.6K, 59.0K. I'll post a follow-up after the weekly close. Educational analysis only, not investment advice.
