Narcissistic Jayden Daniels and Cam Skattebo don’t know NFL rules but are obsessed with personal brands

Wait 5 sec.

Cam Skattebo has turned himself into an NFL caricature in barely one pro season.Jayden Daniels spent part of his preparation for the Washington Commanders‘ 2026 campaign by waging a one-man battle vs LSU, where he won the Heisman Trophy just three years ago.Cam Skattebo gave away a potential win for the New York GiantsGettyOn a sloppy Sunday in Maryland that featured a “disgusting” 27-27 overtime tie between the New York Giants and Commanders, Skattebo and Daniels united to insult two rival fanbases at once.Of course, Washington head coach Dan Quinn will likely receive the most blame by being fired — it’s always easier for a team worth $10 billion to sack a head coach than get rid of a young franchise quarterback. But Daniels deserves the real spotlight for the Commanders’ stunning inability to understand time, distance and possession in an NFC East game that was there for the taking.“You’ve got to be better. We’ve all got to be better situationally,” said Daniels, who somehow wasted the final 12 seconds of Sunday’s game.“Football starts with me. Everybody will say the same thing but we’ve just got to be better at situational football.”The third-year quarterback was all over the place in that post-tie answer and twice said ‘we’ve’ got to be better.Yet Daniels was directly in charge of Washington’s offense, it was his choice to scramble instead of kneel, and his lack of situational awareness after being tackled was surreal.“That’s inexcusable!” FOX analyst Jonathan Vilma said. “It was just supposed to be, you go, you take the knee, set up, clock, and then get out of there. They didn’t do that. They’re spending all this time dancing around. All the receivers are gone down field, and they don’t recognize they need to get back.”In the eerie aftermath of a numbing tie, Daniels was seen smiling on the field and casually chatting with his opponents.Jayden Daniels and Skattebo were the biggest NFL losers of Week 5gettySkattebo has embraced his tough guy act but is still learning how to win gamesGettyDaniels has a long way to go to be on Tom Brady’s levelGettyIt was almost as bad of a look as when the ex-Tiger attacked LSU for allowing his old No. 5 jersey to be worn by a current player, despite the fact that Daniels spent more time playing for Arizona State during his college days.“What a fall from grace from his rookie year,” one fan tweeted. “This is pathetic. Ball is literally in your hands.”“Even when Drake Maye had his horrible stretch to start the year, he never pulled anything close to this bull****,” a second fan posted.Yet Skattebo’s absurd late-game fumble was almost as selfish. The second-year running back has self-advertised himself as a football throwback who’s part Juggernaut and part WWE wrestler. That shtick works until you’re getting knocked out of games or needlessly coughing up the ball at the Commanders’ 23-yard line. The second-year Giants running back has already become a TV staryoutube@statefarminsurance“I fumbled the ball. We can’t have that,” Skattebo said. “I understand that. I’m going to go into the film room and get it fixed.”While John Harbaugh‘s Giants were focused on setting up a potential game-winning field goal, Skattebo appeared to not understand anything about situational football and was intent upon running through as many walls as possible. He took away a win from backup quarterback Jameis Winston, and a Giants team that has already lost starting QB Jaxson Dart for the season. “I describe it as disgusting,” Mike Tomlin said on NBC. “Division wins are too precious in the National Football League. I was disgusted by the Skattebo fumble. I threw up in my mouth a little bit at the end of the game.”Does Skattebo care more about himself and being a modern football Neanderthal than one of 53 Giants players sacrificing weekly for a win?NFL's Greatest......Ranking the top 10......Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and moreTight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare? It’s debatable after New York fell to 3-1-1, and left an opening in the NFC East for the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. Daniels also appeared unbothered by settling for a tie that could eventually lead to Washington coaches being fired and teammates being cut.Skattebo is 24, Daniels is 25, and they both should be playing in the NFL into the next decade. If they spent a little more time understanding what it takes to win weekly in an unforgiving league, they’d be even more popular with football fans across the globe.
