Most countries can use their banking app to transfer money easily, and they don't include the option to "request" money from other peoples' accounts. Sending a money request is uniquely a USA and Dutch thing afaik. (person-to-person, I'm not talking about businesses) It's not wild to me that someone might ask for clarification, because they're unfamiliar with the concept of sending a "request" for money.
