After a lengthy refurbishment project that blocked off a section of Adventureland at Disneyland Park, Disneyland Resort has finally removed the barriers and revealed the refreshed version of the 71-year-old theme park area.Original Disneyland Building Blocked OffCredit: DisneyBack in early August, the first signs of construction appeared outside the Adventureland Bazaar, a merchandise location that has operated in Adventureland at Disneyland Park since the Happiest Place on Earth opened on July 17, 1955. Scrim fabric and scaffolding blocked much of the top half of the building, including the sign bearing the store’s name.Disneyland Resort never commented publicly on the refurbishment, which wasn’t a surprise. The Southern California Disney park rarely issues statements on construction projects that don’t cause closures or significantly impact the guest experience, and the Adventureland Bazaar merchandise location remained open throughout the maintenance work despite the extensive scaffolding on its facade. As of this week, though, this months-long refurbishment project at Disneyland Park is finally complete.Disneyland Reveals Reimagined Adventureland AreaCredit: Anna Fox, FlickrOn October 7, WDWNT reported that the scaffolding and scrim fabric had disappeared from the Adventureland Bazaar facade at Disneyland Park. The outlet shared this photo of the refreshed merchandise location on social media:Disneyland Resort didn’t make any major changes to the building during the refurbishment, but the straw roof, paint, and props were clearly refreshed after years of sun damage and other weather-related fading. Plants, flowers, and shelves decorate the balcony on the second floor on one side of the merchandise location. The other side features a beige balcony, green shutters, and a window decorated with fake advertisements for “Oriental Tattooing by Prof. Harper Goff” and “Banjo Lessons.”Credit: DisneyIt’s unclear whether Disneyland Resort has refurbishment plans in store for other parts of Adventureland or the rest of Disneyland Park.Have you noticed any other construction projects at Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort?
