British boxing fans are in for a late night when Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua finally collide. The heavyweight titans are set to square off on Friday, December 11, in Cardiff in a domestic dust-up that has been a decade in the making.Joshua and Fury will be making their way to the ring in the early hours of Saturday morningGettyOrganisers had initially pushed for the bout to take place across the pond at Madison Square Garden in New York. However, Joshua had it written into his contract that the contest must be staged on British shores, resulting in the fight landing at the Principality Stadium. The 80,000-seater was selected over the initially preferred Wembley Stadium as it had more wriggle room when it came to extending its curfew.Usually, the curfew for boxing events at the Principality is 1am, but an application has been lodged by Millennium Stadium PLC with the Cardiff Council to have that extended until 3am in the early hours of Saturday morning. The application reveals that ring walks are planned for around 1am after a short live music performance. Those timings will suit streaming gian Netflix, which is hoping to broadcast the fight at US prime time.An extension for recorded music, late-night refreshment and the supply of alcohol until 3am has also been applied for, with the stadium closing time set to be moved until 3.30am.The applicants added that the retractable roof will be shut throughout the event and enhanced security will be in place. The application must remain on public display at the premises for 28 consecutive days.Anyone wishing to support or object to the premises licence variation must submit their comments by November 3. The application must be approved by the council if no valid objections or comments are received. This is a developing story and is being updated. For the latest updates, breaking news alerts, and comprehensive analysis, refresh this page or follow our real-time news coverage by watching and listening to talkSPORT live. For broader context, explore related coverage on our homepage for the top trending stories.
