I've been working on DeskRecap, an AI meeting assistant that runs entirely on your computer. I wanted something that could record meetings, transcribe conversations, and generate notes without uploading recordings to external servers or requiring a bot to join calls. It started as a personal project, and I've now released the first version for Mac and Windows. Some of the features include: Live meeting transcription AI-generated notes and action items Speaker recognition across meetings Multilingual transcription Searching and asking questions across past meetings The application uses local speech recognition and LLM inference, so the processing happens on your own machine. This is my first time publicly releasing something I've built, and I'd really appreciate feedback, especially on the usability and whether the privacy-first approach is something people would find useful.
