I built a small CLI that reads the logs Claude Code, Codex CLI and OpenCode already keep on your machine and prints a thermal-printer receipt in the terminal, plus a PNG you can post. The video is my real receipt, all time: 236 sessions, 1,509 prompts, 92k tool calls, 22.7B tokens. At API list prices that comes to about $8.5k. I paid $800 for 4 months of Claude Max 20x. So either I'm very good at subscriptions or Anthropic is very generous, and I know which one it is. It also has fun counters. "You're absolutely right" came up exactly once, which I refuse to believe. 94 interrupts. 297 prompts sent between midnight and 5am, which I fully believe. Try it: npx github:glmn-ai/vibereceipt (not on npm yet). Add --plan max20 to compare with a subscription, --short for a compact 4:5 image for posting, or --demo if you just want to see it with sample data. Things I cared about: - nothing leaves your machine. Zero dependencies, no network code at all, the only file it writes is the PNG - no prompts, file names or project names on the receipt, so you can post it without leaking anything - boring exact math: requests are de-duplicated by message id, money is integers, and a model it has no price for shows "no price" instead of a fake $0 Caveat: it's what the same traffic would cost at API prices, not what you actually paid. Subscriptions aren't billed per token. Code, MIT: https://github.com/glmn-ai/vibereceipt If your numbers look wrong, I'd honestly like to know. Post your receipt too, I want to see if anyone beats 297 night-owl prompts. submitted by /u/glmn_official [link] [comments]
