I kept opening the same five apps whenever I was bored, so I built Just Surprise Me: you spin a wheel, it picks a category (retro web, browser games, rabbit holes, wholesome stuff, weird products) and sends you to a random site from ~530 I curated by hand. A few things I learned building it: - Old internet sites die fast. I just went through every link and had to pull 14 that were dead, broken or redirecting somewhere else. - The "weird products" category gets about half of all clicks, even though it's only around 10% of the links. People really like looking at strange stuff to buy. - Building the wheel was the easy part. Getting anyone to find the site is the hard part. Would love honest feedback: which category is the most fun, what feels broken, and what sites should I add? https://justsurprise.me/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=q4test (Disclosure: the product category uses Amazon affiliate links.) submitted by /u/Infamous-River-4360 [link] [comments]
