Tracking 9+ years of staffing at 16,000+ U.S. nursing homes

Wait 5 sec.

Hi all, I've been building pbj320.com to show staffing trends at individual nursing homes and across states, chains, and owners. The federal government has been publishing daily nursing home staffing data through the payroll-based journal (PBJ) since 2017, but most sites show only the latest quarter. PBJ320 lets you look up a facility and see how RN, LPN, nurse aides, and census have changed over time. The idea is to put the recent data into context and show what happens to staffing after, say, a change in state policy or facility ownership. (For example, see Florida's staffing trends since the state reduced its CNA minimum in 2022.) The site is free and built entirely on public data. Though I built it for advocates, attorneys, and journalists, I figured it'd be useful for nurses and others working in long-term care. Curious how nurses might use this, and happy to answer any questions about the data. Cheers, Eric submitted by /u/EricGoldwein [link] [comments]
