Gillett will be assisted at Stockley Park by Stuart Burt.Tottenham have a strong record in matches officiated by Attwell, with the Lilywhites having won 16 of the 27 matches he has overseen, while drawing five and losing six.The 44-year-old has booked a Spurs player on 51 occasions, but he has never sent any Tottenham player off in his career. While that makes for encouraging reading for the Lilywhites, there was one recent controversy involving Attwell that will live on in the memories of Spurs fans.Attwell’s controversial decisions went against Spurs back in MayMany supporters will remember Attwell was in charge of Tottenham’s 2-1 loss at Stamford Bridge back in May when De Zerbi’s men were in the midst of a relegation battle. The referee waved off Spurs’ shouts for a penalty when Micky Van de Ven was wrestled to the ground by Marc Cucurella, and he also failed to send off Liam Delap for his elbow on Djed Spence’s jaw.Gillet being in the VAR room is not great news for Tottenham either, as he waved away James Maddison’s appeals for a penalty as Leeds emerged with a 1-1 draw on May 10.READ MORE: Tottenham relief as Barcelona find cheaper alternative to Pedro Porro transfer in LiverpoolThe post Tottenham fans will not be pleased to discover the officials for Man United v Spurs appeared first on Spurs Web.
