Hello fellow chronic illness buddies! So I have a few health conditions, they are sleep apnea, hypothyroidism, inappropriate sinus tachycardia, PCOS, mast cell activation syndrome, delayed sleep phase disorder, TOS, and possibly more but that’s all I’ve been diagnosed with at the moment. I often experience medical events that feel very scary to me but mostly are harmless. These events are often caused by my MCAS and IST and I have gone to the ER several times but they always say I’m fine because even though I feel like I’m dying it’s just my body overreaction to stimuli. Which sucks. Anyways, these chronic episodes have led me to having serious health anxiety. I’m constantly worrying that during these episodes it will be the one time where it isn’t my illness but an actual emergency and I won’t go to the ER because I think they won’t find anything and then I’ll die or something. I honestly don’t know if having something chronically track my health would make this anxiety worse or better. So if you have an oura ring or any health ring/Apple Watch that constantly tracks your health, have you found that it’s helpful? Has it caught medical events that you might’ve missed otherwise? Any input on these devices would be much appreciated. submitted by /u/Alittlelessunusual to r/ChronicIllness [link] [comments]
