Although she faded in the stretch after setting the pace in the Sept. 12 GI Natalma Stakes on the grass, the public remembered Lamirada (f, 2, Army Mule–Sister Nova, by Verrazano)'s maiden special weight tour de force going six furlongs on the all-weather surface Aug. 8 when she left the field 11 3/4 lengths in her wake. The public made Lamirada the 3-5 pick Sunday in the seven-furlong Glorious Song Stakes and she rewarded her backers with a performance reminiscent of her debut. At the break, Lamirada burst out of her outside stall, but From Time to Time (Not This Time) was a bit quicker to the early lead from the inside. Lamirada, a Mark Dodson homebred, joined her rival, toying with her briefly as she pulled alongside to stick her head in front at the :22.29 first quarter. With regular rider Fraser Aebly keeping a tight hold, Lamirada had two lengths on Madeleine Swann (Girvin) and From Time to Time at the :44.87 half, and then pulled away effortlessly to cross the wire 8 1/4 lengths the best while geared down. Epic Affair (Epicenter) followed in second. Lamirada's 1:21.29 time for the seven furlongs was a full second faster than the boys went in the Display Stakes one race earlier.A half to MSW & GSP Notorious Gangster (Classic Empire) from the same family as GISW Evita Argentina (Candy Ride {Arg}) and GSW Money Supply (Practical Joke), Lamirada has a yearling half-sister by Complexity who sold to CJ Thoroughbreds at Keeneland September for $200,000. Her dam produced a Life Is Good filly this year and was bred back to Flightline. Lamirada with a glorious win in the Glorious Song Stakes! The Ontario bred is now 2/2 on the main track. https://t.co/rme9WSLrte— Woodbine Racetrack (@WoodbineTB) October 11, 2026GLORIOUS SONG S., C$143,000, Woodbine, 10-11, 2yo, f, 7f (AWT), 1:21.29, ft.1–LAMIRADA, 120, f, 2, by Army Mule 1st Dam: Sister Nova, by Verrazano 2nd Dam: Evita's Sister, by Candy Ride (Arg) 3rd Dam: Jealous Wildcat, by Forest Wildcat($200,000 RNA Ylg '25 KEESEP). 1ST BLACK TYPE WIN.O/B-Mark Dodson (ON); T-Josie Carroll; J-Fraser Aebly.C$90,000.
