Hey everyone ! I'm a small developer from France, and I've been working on Focale, a desktop image editor, for the last months. The idea came from wanting a modern, capable image editor that works across Linux, Windows and macOS, without relying on my browser nor Wine. Here's what it already has : * Layers, masks and blend modes * Adjustments and filters * Photoshop PSD/PSB compatibility * Support for RAW images * A familiar UI * Local-first editing: your files stay on your computer I'm building it with Flutter and Dart. The editor itself is still in development, and I've released my first alpha 3 days ago ! Feel free to try it out : https://focale-editor.app/#downloads. I'd love to hear your thoughts ! As a side question, what would convince you to give a new alternative a chance ? Better Linux support ? Photoshop compatibility ? Performance ? UI ? Pricing ? submitted by /u/Skyost [link] [comments]
