I Made a Free Website that turns MIDI and MusicXML Files into Piano Animations (Sorry for bad video quality in advance)

Wait 5 sec.

I got into writing music in MuseScore recently and wanted to make those falling-notes piano videos. The apps that make them either cost money or make you place every note by hand, so I built a free one that runs in your browser. TileDropper: https://tiledropper.github.io/TileDropper/ How it works: drop in a .mid or MusicXML file, customize the look, and record the video to upload wherever you want. There’s no account, no watermark and nothing to install, and your files never leave your browser. I kept the trailer short, so a lot didn’t make it in. Some things it can also do: Record the video (1080p, 30 or 60 fps, widescreen, vertical or square) Play sounds other than piano Show note names on the tiles Fill notes, keys and the background with gradients, rainbow, an image or a video Adjust note roundness, glow, outline and opacity Show animated hands, in several styles. This is still in beta and sometimes looks off. Change the title font and when the text appears Upload straight to YouTube (optional) Something important to know is that recording runs in real time, so a 4-minute song takes 4 minutes. It works best on a desktop or laptop. No MIDI files? Search the song name plus “midi file”. There’s usually one, but check the copyright before you post. I’d love to know what’s missing, or what looks broken on your end. What would you want it to do next? submitted by /u/Black_Hawk2048 [link] [comments]
