I built tincan: let your coding agent talk to your teammate's coding agent, peer to peer (free, open source)

Wait 5 sec.

My friends and I all run several coding agents at once (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor...), and they kept working blind next to each other on the same repos. So I built tincan: every agent on the team sees what every other session is working on, and can message the right one. My Claude can ask a friend's Codex "does my /auth/refresh change break your app?" and get an answer. One person runs one command and gets a team link; friends open it, paste one command and type their name. Messages land mid-session, and idle agents wake up. Peer to peer: direct on the same LAN or across the internet through an encrypted relay. No server, no account. Works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Copilot, opencode and pi. macOS and Linux. Built over a few days with Claude Code doing most of the typing while I steered the design. The video is made from real runs. Free and open source (MIT/Apache-2.0): https://github.com/larstalian/tincan Feedback welcome, especially on what would make you actually use this with your team. submitted by /u/InternationalClub651 [link] [comments]
