Venmo took 15 bucks every time I cashed out rent. I built the app that replaces Venmo AND Splitwise.

Wait 5 sec.

I collect rent from three roommates every month. They Venmo me. I hit "transfer to bank" and Venmo takes 1.75%. On $3,000 that's $50 gone, every month, for moving my own money. Then the splitting lived in Splitwise, which capped free users at a few expenses a day and paywalled the rest. So I was paying two apps to settle one apartment. I built Clero to do both jobs. You send money to someone's bank account. It lands the same day. No wallet in the middle, no cashout fee. And in the same app, you snap a receipt and it reads the items. Your friends claim what they ordered, and tax and tip follow each order. Your friends don’t even need the app - they can just pay on web. The parts I'm proudest of are the small ones. You can pay everything you owe one person in a single tap instead of clearing requests one by one. Requests carry the actual transaction with them, so nobody replies "what is this for?" You connect your cards and recurring charges like Netflix become recurring requests in one tap. Trip groups settle on the date you pick. I'm the founder, I read every support email myself. So I’m very open to feedback and what we can do to make it better for you. clero.money. Tell me what breaks. submitted by /u/Live-Demand1701 [link] [comments]
