Wait 5 sec.

Around two months ago, CatalystCore was basically an idea I started as a personal portfolio. The original thought was simple: build a few good projects, put them online, and use them to demonstrate what I could actually build. But somewhere along the way, the idea changed. Instead of just building projects for a portfolio, I started building actual products products that could be published, used by real people, improved through feedback, and potentially turned into something bigger. Today, CatalystCore has grown into a small independent product studio with contributors working across development and marketing/content. We've currently published two products: Grind Quest — a gamified productivity app built around quests, XP and progression. PDF & Image Toolkit — an offline-oriented utility app with a collection of PDF and image tools. What has been interesting isn't just building the apps. It's everything that comes after writing the code: → testing with real users → Play Store releases → fixing production issues → improving UX → understanding what users actually use → figuring out distribution → creating content around the products → learning how to work with contributors → building processes so we can ship repeatedly That's probably the biggest change I've noticed. I'm no longer thinking only about "what project should I build next?" I'm starting to think: Can we build a small system that repeatedly turns ideas into products that people actually use? We're still very early. There's no huge funding story or massive user base behind this. It's just a small team trying to build useful software, learn from each release, and gradually get better at the entire process. The next goal isn't to build 50 things. It's to make the things we build better, ship consistently, understand our users, and learn what actually works. Curious to hear from other builders: When did your side project stop feeling like a project and start feeling like a real product/company? submitted by /u/Curious-Gap-4386 [link] [comments]
