(Image credit: Nightdive Studios)The System Shock TV show announced in 2021 is no longer moving ahead. "The company we were working with, they had also licensed the rights to a number of other video game properties," Nightdive Studios chief Stephen Kick told FRVR. "I don’t believe that company is still around [in that form]. So that won’t be happening through Binge."Kick said "preliminary scripts" for the show were written, and that he'd had conversations with the screenwriters, "but that’s really as far as the whole thing went before it basically became vapour." Still, he expressed hope that an adaptation might still happen, someday: "I would love to see System Shock adapted to either television or streaming or a movie. I think that would be the perfect vessel for that. And there are so many unique and creative ways that you could approach it."Binge did indeed have licenses to make shows based on other games, including Driver and Hunt: Showdown; the Driver show was confirmed cancelled in 2024. and while the fate of the Hunt: Showdown series isn't officially known, it's probably safe to say that it's not happening either. The Binge website doesn't appear to have been meaningfully updated since it went live, while its most recent social media post, on X, was an April 2024 advertisement for a Web3 gaming convention being held in Dubai.
