Whilst not quite so dominant as during Tuesday's opening session, Godolphin struck another significant blow at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale on Wednesday when going to 1.1 million gns for a Kingman colt from Baroda Stud.Lot 271 had previously been offered by Baroda Stud at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale, with David and Tamso cox retaining a share in the half-brother to G2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes winner Persian Dreamer (Calyx) after he sold to Auburn Bloodstock for 155,000gns.“Kia was very lucky with the family, so he loved him as well,” said David Cox. “Sheikh Mohammed came to see him yesterday, so we were hoping he would stay on the big lists. It's great for our whole team. Noel McDonnell, who works for me, bought him as a foal. We had him at the foal sales here and I really liked him so, when he came to me afterwards telling me he bought him, I was delighted to take a piece. It worked out great. He has a huge pedigree and these are the types of pinhooks that can go the right way. He is by the right sire and he is a nice horse. I was just lucky that I got the call to buy into him.”Asked how he felt pinhookers had been performing all year, Cox added, “It's been tough. The O'Callaghans [Yeomanstown Stud] got the touch yesterday with the Ghaiyyath colt making 1.3 million gns, but it has been tough. I can't complain, anyway.”The post Baroda Stud In Clover with 1,100,000gns Kingman Colt at Tattersalls Book 1 appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
