Major €45 Million Social Housing Project Makes Significant Progress

Minister for Housing and Lands Owen Bonnici visited the new housing project underway in Ħal Farruġ, through which 267 new social housing apartments will be created.The project, which covers an area of approximately 10,000 square metres, represents an investment of around €45 million and will include one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments, together with approximately 300 garages and parking spaces.During the visit, Minister Bonnici closely followed the progress made on this project, which further strengthens investment in quality housing and provides more opportunities for vulnerable families to have a secure roof over their heads and a home that gives them dignity.“Home is not simply four walls. It is security, stability and the place where a family builds its life. Therefore, an investment of this scale is a direct investment in families and in their future,” said Minister Bonnici.The project forms part of ongoing efforts to create quality residential spaces that meet the needs of families and the community, while providing more vulnerable families with the assistance they need.Also present for the visit were Permanent Secretary Ramon Deguara, Malita Chief Executive Officer Marlene Attard, Housing Authority Chairperson Robert Ducker, Housing Authority Chief Executive Officer Matthew Zerafa, Mayor of Ħal Luqa John Schembri and members of the Ħal Luqa Local Council.Share this with someone who wants to see what’s being done to address housing needs.•
