New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program's 17th annual Breeders' Cup Pledge kicked off Tuesday with the theme, “When you win, they all win.” By pledging a portion of their Breeders' Cup winnings, participating owners and trainers help support New Vocations' mission to rehab, retrain and rehome retired racehorses, a mission that has helped more than 10,000 horses find their next chapter.Last year's pledge raised more than $100,000 for New Vocations, with more than 40 championship contenders represented by owners and/or trainers who pledged a percentage of their Breeders' Cup earnings. Since its inaugural year in 2009, the pledge has raised more than $1.3 million for Thoroughbred aftercare.“We are excited to have the Breeders' Cup back in Lexington this year, only minutes from our main facility at Mereworth Farm,” said Anna Ford, New Vocations' Executive Director. “This year's theme, “When you win, they all win,” encompasses the mission of the pledge as it gives owners and trainers a meaningful and impactful way to give back to the horses who have given us so much. The funds raised are critical to ensuring we can continue serving more than 600 retired racehorses annually.”All pledge information is available at newvocations.org/events or by contacting anna@horseadoption.com or carey@horseadoption.com.The post New Vocations Kicks off Annual Breeders’ Cup Pledge appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
