Is the 3D job market in India really this difficult right now? Need advice as a 3D student

Wait 5 sec.

I’m currently a 3D student in India, and I’ve been hearing that opportunities for 3D modeling, texturing, and rigging artists are becoming quite limited, especially for freshers. I currently have basic knowledge of 3D modeling, texturing, and Substance Painter. I’m trying to figure out what skills I should focus on developing to actually become employable and get opportunities in the industry. For those already working in the 3D/VFX/game industry in India: How difficult is it really for freshers to get jobs right now? Which skills are most valuable for a junior 3D artist? Should I specialize in modeling, texturing, rigging, or animation, or become more of a generalist? What should a good beginner/fresher portfolio contain? Are there any skills/software that you would strongly recommend learning? What mistakes should I avoid while preparing for a career? I’d really appreciate advice from people already working in the industry. I have time to improve my skills, so I want to focus on the right things rather than trying to learn everything.
