I built an India-first app for people who want to date to marry: not a swipe, not a biodata

Wait 5 sec.

Growing up here, I noticed that when it's time to find someone, we're handed two options. A matrimony site, where you become a biodata: height, salary, a formal photo. Or a dating app, which most of our families, and honestly many of us, don't see as a place for something serious. I wanted something in between: a place for people who want to date to marry, and one you wouldn't feel awkward telling your family about. So I've been building LoveJourney on my own for the past few months. You talk to Aira, an AI, in five short sessions (about 20 minutes): how you love, handle conflict, and what you want from life. She turns it into your Relationship Portrait: who you are when things get hard, which no biodata asks. Matches are scored on that, not on photos, and you see why you fit. Matching opens once the first 200 members are ready. It's built to be trusted: every account is approved by hand, your answers are never shown to anyone, and contact details are shared only when both people accept. Built in India, for Indians wherever they live. It's early, and the first 500 members get it free for life. Finding the right person is the goal, but I don't want LoveJourney to stop there. I want to build a whole ecosystem that helps us grow before we meet someone, while we're with them, and long after. Today that's Love Lab: real stories and research-informed articles on how relationships actually work, free for anyone to read. Down the line, I'd like to bring in support from relationship counsellors and psychologists, so that when things get hard, you have somewhere trusted to turn. Find the right person, yes, but also understand yourself, grow together, and stay happy. I'd really value honest feedback: is this clear in 10 seconds? Would you spend 20 minutes on it? What would make you trust it? 👉 Link submitted by /u/LoveJourneyIndia [link] [comments]
