I loved my uniform at school. I only had one set. Uniform schools are the norm where I live, and the thought of a non-uniform school filled me with anxiety because I didn't really have much other clothing. I'd have happily taken the bag UNICEF bag too if I could since mine was a damaged hand-me-down which I had to learn how to sew to fix and patch. I used that bag for years continually patching and sewing it as it tore, by the end you could basically track how I had gotten better at sewing over the years. This sounds more like a trauma dump than intended, I hadn't thought about this for years and am now wondering if I was poorer than I realized...
