The Pink Hat Racing Partnership's Nakila Sun (Torquator Tasso) backed up a wide-margin win at Windsor in August with an impressive front-running performance in Friday's seven-furlong British EBF £100,000 Final at York. The 5-1 chance broke sharply for an immediate lead and held sway throughout this colts and geldings contest. Surging clear approaching the quarter-mile pole, he was in splendid isolation entering the final furlong and kept on strongly under mild urging in the closing stages to easily outpower Sanbona Warrior (Ten Sovereigns) by 2 1/2 lengths.Nakila Sun is the latest of four foals and lone scorer produced by an unraced full-sister to G3 Zukunfts-Rennen victor Navarra King (Lope De Vega). His Group 3-winning second dam Navarra Queen (Singspiel), a full-sister to dual stakes-winning G3 Preis des Winterfavoriten runner-up Nordic Thunder, is out of a winning half-sister to G1 Prix Marcel Boussac third Tulipe Royale (Java Gold) and Listed-winning G3 Frankfurt Trophy third Nicaragua (Acatenango).
