Gold (XAUT) — Monday and Tuesday Trading Outlook | 10-12XAUT / Tether PERPETUAL FUTURESMEXC:XAUTUSDT.Psean78808MARKET OUTLOOK: A TACTICAL RECOVERY WITHIN A BROADER CORRECTION Gold is recovering within a broader correction. Short-term money flow supports that recovery, so the conditional downside trade described below has not triggered. With price action between the nearby KAMA's and the upper test around 4,208–4,210, we do well to wait and not chase. During the October 12, 2026, review, approximately 02:35–03:06 UTC, price traded around 4,197–4,201. Monday's 24-minute, 4-hour, daily and weekly candles were still developing. Their temporary positions do not count as completed-bar confirmation. ACROSS THE TIMEFRAMES Weekly: The correction from the approximately 5,600 peak was followed by a lower high around 4,700. Price remains below the nearby weekly KAMA's in the low-to-mid 4,200s. Daily: The decline from roughly 4,700 to 4,075 has produced a rebound. The falling Slow KAMA near 4,240 remains overhead, with a nearer resistance block around 4,220. 4H: Price has recovered above both Fast and Slow KAMA. However, an AVWAP anchored on the 9/18 Lower High (circa 4,235) remains potential resistance. This supports a tactical rebound while leaving the larger correction unresolved. 24m: The Fast and Slow KAMAs reside at approximately 4,191 and 4,189 respectively. Price stands above the descending pitchfork's main trend band, having rejected from the latter's upper warning line. FLOW AND DECISION LEVELS The 24m readings showed bullish expansion, positive cumulative volume delta (CVD) slope and MACD histogram, RSI near 58.6, and ATR expansion. MACD acceleration was falling, however, and volume Z-score was only +0.18. A simultaneous warning identified weakening or exhaustion. This combination supports the rebound while discouraging a market buy into the upper band. CVD is a feed-specific pressure proxy; these observations do not establish institutional absorption. 4,235–4,240: Later overhead resistance. 4,220: Nearest breakout obstacle. 4,208–4,210: Upper test and upside acceptance gate. 4,192–4,210: Wait/no-chase band. 4,192: Recovery monitoring level. 4,180: Initial downside warning. 4,175 and the moving pitchfork median: Both must fail before the short qualifies. 4,165: First downside objective. Around 4,155, then 4,140: Later downside checkpoints. CONDITIONAL PLANS For the scenarios below, CONFIRMATION means: Two consecutive completed 24-minute closes beyond the relevant threshold, followed by a separate, subsequently completed 6-minute retest. Longs require a defended higher low; shorts require a failed retest and lower high. 1. Favored downside structure, if the recovery fails. A loss of 4,180 alone is insufficient: selling there would mean selling toward the pitchfork median before its support has failed. First lose both 4,180 and the median. Each of the two qualifying 24-minute closes must be below BOTH 4,175 and the actual median at that candle's close. The subsequent failed 6-minute retest and entry must remain beneath both. Refresh the median at every close, retest and entry; a fixed 4,175 marker cannot substitute for a median that has moved lower. CVD must deteriorate meaningfully or turn negative, with confirming momentum; current bullish readings do not satisfy this future sequence. Illustrative parameters: entry 4,174.5, stop 4,177.0, first target 4,165.0 — 9.5 units of reward against 2.5 units of risk, or 3.80R before costs. BOTH the actual failed-retest high and the actual median at entry, each plus an appropriate buffer, must fit below 4,177.0. Otherwise use the real structural stop, recalculate against the nearest objective and skip if reward falls below 2R after costs. Do not shrink the stop to force qualification. Total round-trip price-equivalent costs must remain below 1.50 units to preserve more than 2R in this model. Cancel the pending short on a failed retest or completed 24-minute reclaim of EITHER 4,175 or the then-current median. At 4,165, protect/harvest and reassess the actual lower parallel. Only fresh accepted failure opens a further attempt toward the moving outer band, approximately 4,155 at review; reassess there before considering 4,140. 2. Alternative: an accepted recovery above 4,210. Require the two consecutive full 24-minute closes above BOTH 4,210 and the refreshed upper VWAP deviation band, followed by the separate defended 6-minute retest. Renewed momentum and participation should resolve the weakening warning. Illustrative parameters: entry 4,210.5, stop 4,206.5, first target 4,220.0 — approximately 2.38R before costs. The actual retest low minus a suitable buffer must permit that stop. If wider structure is required, recalculate and skip when remaining net reward is inadequate. Total round-trip price-equivalent costs must stay below 0.50 units to retain more than 2R. Account for exchange fees, spread, slippage and funding if held. A failed retest or completed 24-minute loss of 4,210 cancels the pending long. Manage at 4,220. Do not substitute 4,235–4,240 for that nearer obstacle; the higher objectives require new acceptance and a defended retest above 4,220. MACRO CONTEXT Friday's approximately 5.24% nominal US10Y and 102.21 DXY are dated references. The latest official October 8 real 10-year yield was 2.87%, versus 2.95% on October 5. Falling real yields can support gold; renewed dollar strength can offset that support. These are context checks, not automatic entries. Monday's cash-bond holiday can leave rate references stale. It does not imply a gold or Treasury futures closure; CME's notice specifies normal settlement times. Check XAUT spread and participation as traditional markets reopen, and refresh cash-rate context Tuesday.* September CPI is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, at 12:30 UTC, beyond this outlook. NOTATE BENE MA's: Purple and pink are the Fast (10,2,30) and Slow (10,5,30) Kaufman Adaptive Moving Averages. PITCHFORK CHANNEL: The white median line and parallel channel boundaries describe the fitted rising trend path. They provide moving references for support, resistance and the market's ability to remain within that path. The red sloping outer lines are warning lines. Price approaching or entering those areas is verging outside the trend described by the pitchfork. Sustained departure followed by a failed reclaim weakens the channel's fit. A wick through a warning line does not establish a reversal; an upper overshoot can reflect acceleration. DRAWINGS: Cyan marks recovery/acceptance gates. Red horizontal lines mark the 4,180 warning and 4,175 short gate. Yellow marks overhead objectives, green marks lower demand. Gray horizontal shading marks the wait/no-chase area. The compact trade label indicates a conditional setup, not an order or confirmed fill. Once a fresh setup begins, its first target trading before entry confirmation expires it. Pending setups also expire on a failed gate/retest, six FULL 24-minute bars from the first qualifying close, or the next 00:00 UTC reset, whichever occurs first. Open trades follow their protective stops. This outlook ends Tuesday, October 13, at 23:59 UTC; a new assessment is required before CPI.
