Having topped the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale with a Study Of Man colt a little over two weeks earlier, Forenaghts Stud celebrated another fairytale result at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale on Thursday when selling a Night Of Thunder filly to Godolphin for 1 million gns.Lot 404 is the first foal out of the Listed Kooyonga Stakes heroine Cadeau Belle (Harry Angel), from the family of Halfway To Heaven (Pivotal) and her multiple Group 1-winning daughters, Magical (Galileo) and Rhododendron (Galileo).“I thought it couldn't get better after [Nabati won] the Mill Reef,” said Forenaghts manager Caoimhe Doherty. “And then Fairyhouse was unbelievable. Then we had a good time in Goffs, and now this is insane. I'm going to retire at the end of the year. It can't get any better.”She continued, “We had only planned to offer six yearlings this year. Only four of them made it to the sales. Tony [Smurfit] has been in the business for 40 years and he's rowed in again and again and again. And, now, I just think finally it's all come to fruition for him. I'm so happy for him and Sharon and the Irish industry. We need people like Tony. And I'm just so pleased that he's being richly rewarded.“And I'm so pleased that Godolphin have her. I owe so much to Godolphin in terms of the Flying Start, working in Kildangan and now this. I just can't believe it.”Godolphin have now signed for 22 yearlings for a total spend of 24,060,000gns.The post Forenaghts Fairytale Continues with 1,000,000gns Night Of Thunder Filly at Tatttersalls Book 1 appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
