Malta has secured its influenza vaccine supply for the coming winter after an initial shipment was not expected to arrive until January 2027, Health Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg has announced. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)In a video statement, Borg said concerns over global vaccine supplies had affected Malta, with the company responsible for delivering the doses informing him that they would not arrive in time for the winter rollout.However, Borg said that within 24 hours, Malta had contacted neighbouring Italy and secured an alternative supply.The vaccines subsequently arrived in Malta in less than a week, earlier than initially expected.The supply will now be handed over to medical experts, who will determine how this winter’s vaccination programme will be rolled out.Borg also announced that local councils will be involved in the flu vaccine rollout for the first time, in an effort to make vaccination more accessible across Malta.What do you make of the new local council rollout?Facebook Video: Ian Borg•
