# Structure, Discipline & Probability | Mr. Nobody’s ApproachGold vs US DollarOPOFINANCE:XAUUSDMehdi_Abbasi_EWP**Reading time: Approximately 2 minutes** “Your success lies in consistently defining and following your rules.” — Mark Douglas For me, this concept has a specific meaning when studying the Elliott Wave Principle: **an analyst’s job is not to impose a forecast on the market, but to identify structure, evaluate probabilities, and reassess when new evidence emerges.** In my analysis, I begin with the larger structure. Then, by examining lower degrees, I study wave behavior and the relationships between different parts of a pattern. Why do I sometimes present two scenarios? Because a structure that initially appears complete may still have more to develop. Sometimes, new price action also reveals that a previous wave count needs revision. Therefore, bullish and bearish scenarios are not two fixed predictions for me; they are two hypotheses to be tested against actual market behavior. This is where discipline matters. If the evidence remains consistent with the current count, I continue to monitor it. If the structure changes or the rules of the count are violated, I must reassess my interpretation rather than force the market to fit my original view. This approach also connects with another important principle of trading: **missing an opportunity does not necessarily mean making a mistake.** Sometimes, waiting and avoiding a trade that does not meet the conditions of our method is more rational than acting prematurely. Discipline and risk management are part of the price of staying in this profession. In my view, the Elliott Wave Principle is not simply about counting price movements; it is an attempt to understand the relationships between structures across different degrees. However, no wave count guarantees that the market will move exactly as expected. The market is alive. Structures develop, become more complex, and sometimes require a fresh interpretation. I am not trying to prove that my view is right. I want to understand what supports it, what invalidates it, and when I need to change my perspective. **Structure before prediction. Rules before action. Evidence over bias.** This is my approach to studying the market—not a buy or sell recommendation, but a method for thinking more systematically in the face of uncertainty. Patterns whisper. I listen. 🎧📊 — Mr. Nobody
