Hey boys and girls, I'm working on Soundsible, an open source, self-hosted music service. A question I get is what it offers beyond something like Navidrome. The main difference is that this is an all-in-one service, also compatible with OpenSubsonic, but designed to be used as server + player, which makes the experience efortless, zero external configs, and much more solid for external discovery and metadata handling than anything I've tried. You can search YouTube Music, listen straight away, save something without downloading it, or download it to your server. There's also radio, autoplay and recommendations based on your listening history. Everything stays on your computer, always. DJ mode is my personal touch to the experience, inspired on Apple Automix but it acts like a DJ and drives a session for you. No LLMs, just python. I'm interested in feedback from people who actually try it. Does the flow make sense? Where do you get stuck? What would make it more useful for how you listen to music?
