New grad here. I wasn’t properly trained and was expected to manage a workload of 28 residents on my own after only seven days of training. I was then given a Letter of Expectation and had my probation extended due stuff I was never trained. What frustrates me is that some of the more experienced nurses at this facility have also missed documentation, and there was even an incident where multiple nurse failed to report a resident’s stroke for seven days. However, management seems to turn a blind eye to these incidents while holding newer staff to a different standard.
