The Supreme Court has halted defamation proceedings against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi related to comments about PM Narendra Modi. A bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Aparesh Kumar Singh issued notices to the complainant M H Shrishrimal and the Maharashtra government. They must submit replies within four weeks while proceedings before the trial court remain stayed. Senior Advocate Abhishek Singhvi argued legal precedents support Gandhi's case during the hearing.
