[Hiring] Line Artist for Dark Fantasy Webseries

Wait 5 sec.

The Vision: I'm building a dark fantasy webseries with a heavy focus on high-tension, razor-sharp 90s aesthetic. Think classic Yu-Gi-Oh! (Battle City era), Death Note, and peak 90s/early-2000s dark anime. I'm looking for a lead line-artist who genuinely loves this era and can hit or exceed the structural standards set by masters like Takahiro Kagami and Kazuki Takahashi. What the Role Needs: Sharp Geometric Anatomy: Angular jawlines, faceted hair, sharp joint articulation, and hyper-detailed, dynamic hands. Hard-Surface & Tech: Ability to draw clean, rigid mechanical gear, weapons, and industrial assets with tight perspective. Heavy Kuro-Beta Shading: Strong G-Pen line weight variation and bold, solid-black ink shadow blocks. Linework Focus: Clean line art and structural inks only (post-production color/rendering is handled in-house). What Doesn't Fit: If your style leans into soft digital airbrushing, pastel VTuber designs, modern webtoon aesthetics, or painterly rendering, this won't be a good fit. I need pure, high-contrast, hard-edge line art. Process: This is a paid role. Candidates who pass the initial portfolio review will be invited to a quick, paid test assignment (a single character headshot/line-art piece) at standard commercial rates. However, the goal is to bring on someone full-time for ongoing work. The pricing structure will be developed in a mutually agreeable fashion prior to the project start date. To Apply: Send a message with your portfolio link. Please include at least one direct example of sharp geometric linework, retro ink shading, or hard-surface gear. (Generic portfolio blasts without matching line-art examples won't be reviewed). submitted by /u/Hopeful_Loan6950 [link] [comments]
