I got nostalgic over the weekend and missed my old BlackBerry, so I built a keyboard that looks and feels like it on Android. It has the curved keys, the small Alt symbols in the corners, and a trackpad bar for moving the cursor and selecting text. The modern bit is an optional small language model (Gemma 3 270M) that runs on the phone. It reads the sentence around a word before fixing it, so it catches things like "form" for "from". It's off by default and it's a ~240 MB download. Everything stays on the phone. The only network use is the model download, and only if you tap it. There's also a Speed key, as on the Key2: hold the right-hand shift and tap a letter to open an app, a link or type a snippet. It's open source (Apache-2.0) and a pre-release, tested on one phone so far. Not affiliated with BlackBerry.
