MES Repairs Toward the Highs — Can Lagging Leadership Join?Micro E-mini S&P 500 Index FuturesCME_MINI:MES1!SITCo_MES Repairs Toward the Highs — Can Lagging Leadership Join? Sunday Review → Week of October 12 🟡 Market Regime: Improving Repair / Uneven Confirmation 🟡 Macro: Elevated-Rate Headwinds 🟢 Funding Plumbing: Calm / Watching Systemic Stress: Not confirmed Confidence: Moderate 📈 What Changed Thursday’s recovery developed into further repair. MES regained the 7,843.50–7,848.50 band and advanced toward 7,877–7,880 Sunday evening. The bullish conditional pathway progressed. Buyers now face the next overhead tests at 7,884.75 and 7,899.25. Cash-market figures below refer to Friday; futures observations include Sunday evening. 🌐 Breadth Improved Again S&P stocks above their: • 20-day average: 54.49% — up 5.59 percentage points • 50-day average: 34.93% — up 3.00 points • 200-day average: 47.70% — up 1.00 point A majority now sits above the 20-day average. Longer-term repair remains incomplete, particularly the weak 50-day measure. ADD and advancing-minus-declining volume remained positive, although Friday’s participation was less forceful than Thursday’s. RSP gained 0.55%, retained 211.31, and reached 213.04. Equal weight has initial follow-through, but its relative trend against SPY remains weak. 🔎 Leadership Is Divided MSFT and AMZN strengthened, alongside consumer discretionary and large financials. XLY gained 1.02% and XLF 0.92%. However: • SOX fell 0.41% • SMH fell 0.65% • NVDA fell 0.52% • KRE fell 0.83% • KRE/XLF declined 1.74% Large-financial strength is not broad banking confirmation. Semiconductor repair also remains unfinished. 👀 Key leadership tests: • NVDA: 231.77 / 236.43 • SMH: fresh marked shelf at 613.14 • XLF: 54.92 above; 54.03 below • KRE: recover 69.20, then 69.78–70.58 • RSP: 214.71 / 216.59 above; 211.31 below 🌡️ Volatility and Rates VIX finished Friday at 14.85, with VIX1D at 9.05. The captured October–November VX curve remained in contango. MOVE cooled, and TLT continued its rebound. Treasury yields nevertheless remain elevated; broad rate relief is incomplete. 🏦 Sunday Macro Check Funding data remained comparatively calm: SOFR eased, EFFR stayed stable, reserves increased, and reported overnight repo usage was minimal. Public corporate credit did not show synchronized deterioration. Consumers are still spending, but spending growth exceeded income growth. Low layoffs coexist with weak hiring. Housing remains a clear weak spot. These conditions support a mixed macro interpretation rather than a systemic-stress call. 📍 MES Decision Areas • 7,884.75 → 7,899.25: overhead tests • 7,875.25: nearby hold/retest reference • 7,857.50–7,848.75: principal reclaimed support • 7,830.25 → 7,822 → 7,811.75: lower supports • 7,793.50: lower recovery reference 📍 MNQ References • 31,275.50 → 31,454.50: overhead repair • 30,903.50 → 30,509.25: lower structure 🟢 Repair Strengthens If MES retains reclaimed support, clears overhead structure, and improving breadth is joined by semiconductor and regional-bank stabilization. 🔴 Repair Weakens If MES loses 7,857.50–7,848.75, rejects the reclaim, and participation deteriorates alongside rising volatility. ⚪ Chop Conditions Repeated crossings in upper value, conflicting leadership, and failed breaks leave direction unresolved. 📅 Week Ahead Monday is my bank-holiday observation day. Wednesday CPI and Thursday PPI/retail sales are the main scheduled macro tests. 🧠 SITCo Conclusion Price repair is real. Full leadership confirmation is still incomplete. Levels identify the decision areas. Acceptance, rejection, and the retest determine whether a setup develops.
