The City of Windhoek will be installing 2,000 CCTV security cameras across the capital by 2027, with 458 cameras already installed at a cost of N$47.5 million. 🎥 The municipality has also outlined plans to eventually expand its surveillance network to between 3,000 and 5,000 cameras, although no timeline has been confirmed for the larger target. The expansion is expected to improve crime detection, assist police investigations and strengthen monitoring of high-risk areas across Windhoek. submitted by /u/namibpulse [link] [comments]
