Do any of you have eczema? If so have you found it to be irritated with all the hand washing and sanitizing on the job?

Wait 5 sec.

This may sound like I’m being silly but anyone with eczema knows how frustrating it can be. So I’m about done with a year and a half of prerequisites hoping to start applying to see if any ADN programs will take me here shortly. Maybe I should’ve asked this sooner but I have eczema and sometimes it flares on my hands a little bit. I know nursing would involve a ton of hand washing / sanitizer.. i work in a rehab now and have to wash pretty frequently but not nearly as much as I would as a nurse, still tho with my eczema I notice if I wash my hands too frequently they can dry out and crack up a bit. Also even with nitrile free gloves I do tend to get some dyshidrotic eczema blisters, manageable just a bit annoying. Do any of you have eczema that flares up with all the washing and sanitizing? Have you found you’re able to manage it by keeping moisturizer on hand? Do sanitizers in hospitals tend to at least be a little less harsh than the jugs you buy in store? I am prepared to kind of deal with what I have to but I was hoping to hear some feedback on people who have it pretty managed on the job submitted by /u/EffectiveApricot [link] [comments]
