Steel & Tube Industries Ltd has received two awards at the 32nd Uganda International Trade Fair (UGITF) 2026, recognising its contribution to the building and construction sector and its support for the annual business exhibition.The company was named Best Sector Exhibitor in Building, Construction and Housing Technology and also received an Appreciation Award as an In-Kind Partner of the 32nd UGITF 2026.The awards were presented by the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA), organisers of the annual trade fair, which brings together manufacturers, traders, service providers, buyers and other stakeholders to showcase products, explore business opportunities and strengthen trade relations.The Best Sector Exhibitor award recognised Steel & Tube’s exhibition and product presentation within the Building, Construction and Housing Technology category, while the Appreciation Award acknowledged the company’s support towards the organisation of this year’s trade fair as an in-kind partner.Speaking about the company’s participation, Regina Namuwonge, Director of Operations at Steel & Tube Industries Ltd, said the trade fair provided an opportunity for manufacturers and businesses to connect with consumers while offering products at competitive prices.“You buy from the people who make and distribute the goods at the most affordable price,” Namuwonge said. “Every offer, every discount, is priced for the Ugandans who consume.”She also acknowledged the contribution of the different stakeholders involved in organising the annual exhibition.“A trade fair of this size is carried by many hands,” she said. “There are many players in this trade fair, and we thank the various ministerial bodies and agencies who support us behind it. The business later merged with Steel and Tube Industries Ltd, which has grown into a major manufacturer and supplier of steel products for construction and other building applications.Today, the company manufactures and supplies a range of steel products, including STIL Bars, hollow sections, open profiles, wire products, roofing products, smart tanks, plates and structural steel.
