TikTok Shop doesn’t sell what Amazon sells, and it doesn’t reward what Amazon rewards. That is the conclusion of the Marketplace Pulse TikTok Shop Trends Report 2026, published today, built from tracking more than 150,000 U.S. sellers and 4.5 million products. The report sets out seven trends covering what sells, how it sells, who wins, and whether they stay there. Three of them explain the platform best.TikTok Shop sells personal transformation. Among the top-selling products, more than two-thirds of revenue comes from things applied to the body, taken into it, or worn on it. Beauty alone is close to 30%. The median top product sells for around $40, which is high enough to matter and low enough to buy without leaving the feed. The assortment a general marketplace is built to carry barely registers.Content is the moat. Followers, video output, and catalog depth all correlate with sales, but they don’t carry equal weight. The report ranks the three, and the answer should change how a new seller spends its first six months. The top is easy to get but hard to hold. Set 30-day activity against lifetime totals, and the leaderboard turns over faster than on any marketplace Marketplace Pulse tracks. A viral month gets a seller into the top ranks. Staying there is a different problem, and the report shows what the sellers who stay have in common. The remaining trends cover seller concentration, the platform’s badge program, where the leading sellers are registered, and how little overlap there is between Amazon’s top sellers and TikTok Shop’s.Each trend includes insight into what it means for brands, service providers, and industry analysts.
