earth.mejjad.se It's a 3D globe with live layers you can switch on: clouds and rain from satellites, lightning, earthquakes, storms, the ISS and other satellites, ships, auroras, a daily pick of world news, and live radio stations you can listen to by place. An ambient mode keeps the world rotating, while keeping you up to date with news and other events. You can zoom all the way out to see the stars, and you can switch on the zodiac constellations, with the Sun drawn in its real position on its path through them. Since I live in northern Sweden, there's a "mushroom weather" layer that scores how good recent rain and temperatures have been for chanterelles and porcini across Swedish forests (it shows weather, not where to pick). It's free, has no ads or login, and works in English and Swedish. I appreciate any input. Thanks! (I've been building this in my spare time with Claude/ChatGPT doing most of the coding, while I decided what it should be and kept pushing on the details. ) submitted by /u/mejjad [link] [comments]
